They have been together since they were 18 years old. One day Anna decided to discover glass, so she moved to a small village in the South of France called Tournon, at the banks of the river Rhone. Living there for two years, she learned the art of silver coating, glass engraving and the secrets of the Venetian mirror making.

Vasily was living in Boston where he was studying Art History and Philosophy. He already had his Masters’ degree in Byzantine glass. They got married in Cambridge’s Town Hall on a sunny day in August. They stayed four years in the US, attending seminars on glass and traveling around the continent. That was the 80’s.
When they returned to Europe, Anna worked for two years in various workshops and glass schools in France, Germany, Belgium, and Holland. She learned to love and appreciate glass in all its forms and to work with it in every possible way (casting, blowing, pate de verre, etc). She worked together with artists and designers like Frank van der Ham, Hanneke Fokkelman, and Veronique Monod. Glass became second nature to them, the material on which they mirrored their relationship.
Eight years later, in 1992, nostalgia brought them back to the Mediterranean; to Thessaloniki, Greece. They were only 26 years old and they started small, with a day’s production being merely 4 pieces.
Since 1999, her company has been working with major Hotels and Restaurants all around the world, collaborating with a heaven of fine dining industry stars (such as Gordon Ramsay and Alain Ducasse), gaining experience and earning a reputation in the art of fashioning a bespoke “gift box” for a meal. As a tableware designer, she has adorned hotels such as the Ritz in Paris, the Savoy in London and the Burj Al Arab in Dubai.
2017 is the year she launched her AnnaVasily brand, starting in Australia. Her unique gift is to give you ideas on how to enhance the way you feel about your home and yourself. With her partner Vasily, they have traveled to 84 countries. They have two kids, Margarita and Nick, a dog Collin, and a blind cat named Scrabby.
